Against the backdrop of an unprecedented world health crisis, the 5th CAYS: Envisioning a New Future through Youth Synergy— Fresh Perspectives on China-ASEAN Cooperation in the Post-Covid Era explored the harnessing of youth dialogue synergy to envision a new future for China-ASEAN cooperation.

​The theme for the panel discussion was “Opportunities and Challenges for China-ASEAN Youths in the Post-Covid-19 Era”. In addition, each committee participated in a corresponding thematic seminar which invited industry leaders to give a sharing.

The Fireside Chat aimed to allow delegates to engage in meaningful conversations on their observations and experience in their home countries, with topics ranging personal perspectives on national identity and resilience to the cultural, social, and economic dynamics in the region:

Cultural Activities
Besides activities and games during the Cultural Night, delegates also participated in handicraft workshops to create their own Burmese Patheum Umbrella, Peking Opera Mask, and Batik. The event also included a China-ASEAN Monopoly- a different rendition of the Monopoly board game where each player represented one of eleven nationalities (all ten ASEAN member states plus China) and performed specific tasks based on their role.
