2nd CAYS

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN, the 2nd CAYS, under the theme of Embrace for Change, Gear Forward, reflected on the achievements of ASEAN and explored areas for closer collaboration between China and the region.

Programmes

Model-ASEAN Conference

The event included six committees who produced one blueprint each as the conference outcome. The topics were:

  • 2030 Vision of China-ASEAN Youth Partnership

  • China-ASEAN Youth Voluntourism Alliance Plan

  • Lan Mei Cooperation Youth Action Program

  • East Asia Online Learning Alliance

  • Transboundary Environmental Pollution Management Problem

  • Joint Development of Civil Facilities and Building of Public Service Management Systems in the South China Sea

Roundtable Forum

In view of rising geopolitical tensions, the theme for the Roundtable Forum was set as “Balance of Power and the future of ASEAN”. The event was graced by Former Philippines Ambassador to China, Jose Santiago Sta. Romana, to share his insights on the topic.

Cultural Night

The Cultural Night had a diverse line-up of performances and cuisines from all countries and also included a cultural costume catwalk section to allow delegates to display their country’s mesmerising fashion culture.

Voting on China-ASEAN’s Top Ten Most Influential People

Delegates cast their votes on the most influential people who have made an impact on China-ASEAN relations in the areas of politics, economy, culture, sports, and academics.

Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Contest

The contest aimed to promote the spirit of innovation within China-ASEAN while improving regional interconnection. Among the various creative proposals, six teams entered the finals and presented their proposals during the finals.
